Responsible &

Ethical AI

01

Our Commitment to Responsible AI

Helium AI believes that artificial intelligence has the power to transform how people work, create, and solve problems. With that power comes profound responsibility.

We are committed to building AI systems that are safe, transparent, fair, and beneficial to all users, while respecting fundamental human rights and democratic values.

This is not a compliance document. It is a set of principles we hold ourselves accountable to, publicly and permanently.

02

Human-Centered Design and Autonomy

We build AI that augments human capability. Our systems support better decisions. They do not replace the humans who make them. Meaningful oversight and personal control are non-negotiable in every product we ship.

  • Human-in-the-loop oversight maintained for all high-impact decisions
  • Clear mechanisms for users to understand, question, and override any AI recommendation
  • Interfaces designed to make AI assistance transparent and controllable at all times
  • Users retain full ownership and control over their data and all AI-generated outputs
  • Preferences regarding AI assistance levels and automation are respected without exception

03

Fairness and Non-Discrimination

Our AI systems must treat every individual equitably. Bias, whether structural or emergent, is both a technical failure and an ethical one. We treat it with the same urgency as a security incident.

  • Regular bias audits and fairness assessments run across all deployed AI systems
  • Training and test datasets are diverse and representative of the full range of users
  • Technical safeguards actively detect and mitigate discriminatory outcomes
  • Clear reporting processes exist for users to flag potential bias or unfair treatment
  • Deployed systems are monitored continuously for disparate impacts across user groups

04

Transparency and Explainability

Users have the right to understand how AI systems function and how decisions affecting them are reached. Opacity is not acceptable, even when explainability is technically complex.

  • All interactions with AI systems are disclosed clearly and immediately
  • Meaningful explanations of AI-generated recommendations and decisions available on request
  • Each system's capabilities, limitations, and intended use cases are documented publicly
  • Information about AI models, training data, and methodologies shared where legally permissible
  • Full documentation of AI development and deployment processes maintained and auditable

05

Privacy and Data Protection

AI systems often require access to personal data. We treat this access as a privilege, not a right. Data is collected only when necessary, protected rigorously, and never monetized against users' interests.

  • Only data necessary for specified, legitimate purposes is ever collected
  • Strong technical and organizational security measures protect all user data
  • Users access, correct, delete, and port their personal data on demand
  • Explicit consent obtained before using personal data for AI training or new purposes
  • Full compliance with GDPR, CCPA, DPDP Act, and all applicable data protection regulations
  • Data Protection Impact Assessments conducted for all high-risk AI processing activities
  • We do not sell user data to any third party, under any circumstances

06

Safety, Security, and Reliability

We design for failure. AI systems encounter edge cases, adversarial inputs, and unexpected conditions. Our engineering and governance processes ensure those events do not result in harm to users.

  • Comprehensive safety testing completed before any AI system deploys to production
  • Robust security measures prevent unauthorized access and adversarial attacks at all system layers
  • Deployed systems monitored continuously for unexpected behaviors or performance degradation
  • Incident response procedures address safety or security issues within defined response windows
  • AI systems updated and improved regularly based on real-world performance data

07

Accountability and Governance

Every AI system has a named owner. Every decision has a documented rationale. Accountability at Helium AI is a structural requirement enforced at the engineering and governance level.

  • Clear ownership and accountability designated for each AI system in production
  • Comprehensive records of AI system development, testing, and deployment maintained
  • Regular ethics reviews and impact assessments conducted before and after major releases
  • Escalation procedures for ethical concerns documented and accessible to all employees
  • Transparency reports on AI systems and their impacts published on a regular schedule

08

Compliance with Global AI Standards

Helium AI aligns with and exceeds requirements established by leading international frameworks and regulations. Compliance is a floor, not a ceiling.

EU AI ACT

  • No social scoring or biometric identification systems
  • Conformity assessments for all high-risk AI systems
  • Human oversight embedded in all high-risk workflows
  • Clear disclosure of all AI-generated content

GDPR & DATA PROTECTION

  • Lawful basis documented for all personal data processing
  • Data minimization and purpose limitation enforced
  • Full rights to access, rectification, erasure, and portability

ISO/IEC AI STANDARDS

  • ISO/IEC 42001:2023 AI management system framework
  • ISO/IEC 23894:2026 AI system impact assessment
  • ISO/IEC 27001 information security management

OECD AI PRINCIPLES

  • Inclusive growth, sustainable development, and well-being
  • Human-centered values and fairness
  • Transparency and explainability
  • Robustness, security, safety, and accountability

09

User Rights and Control

These rights are unconditional. They do not require a support ticket or an escalation. Every Helium AI user holds them by default.

Right to Information

You always know when you are interacting with AI and understand its purpose and limitations.

Right to Explanation

You receive meaningful explanations of any AI-generated decision or recommendation affecting you.

Right to Human Review

You request human review of any significant AI-generated decision at any time.

Right to Opt-Out

You disable AI assistance entirely or choose non-AI alternatives for any workflow.

Right to Data Control

You access, correct, delete, and export your personal data without friction or delay.

10

Continuous Improvement

Responsible AI is not a state we reach. It is a practice we maintain. Our improvement cycle is structured, measurable, and tied to real accountability.

  • Quarterly internal audits of all AI systems and responsible AI practices
  • Annual third-party assessments conducted by independent experts
  • Mandatory responsible AI training required for all employees before system access
  • Regular stakeholder consultations and structured user feedback collection
  • Continuous benchmarking against industry best practices and emerging global standards

11

Reporting Concerns

We actively encourage users, employees, and stakeholders to report concerns about our AI systems. All reports receive a response. Retaliation against anyone who raises concerns in good faith is strictly prohibited.

  • Potential bias or discriminatory outcomes
  • Privacy or data security concerns
  • Safety or reliability failures
  • Misuse or harmful applications of Helium AI systems
  • Violations of these principles or our internal policies
